Have you ever wondered how your eyes and ears work? Or how are they connected? It’s obvious why we need our eyes and ears. But do you really know what they do for our bodies? This book explores how our eyes and ears help us out in our daily life.
Excerpt: Light travels from objects and passes into our eyes. Light comes from many different sources, including the sun and electric bulbs. When light hits an objects, light waves bounce off in all directions. Special light hits an object, lights waves bounce off in all directions. Special light-sensitive cells in our eyes sense the light and send signals to our brain. Sound waves move through the air and enter our ears. Sound is made when objects move back and forth, or vibrate. The vibrations travel through the air in invisible ripples called sound waves; sound-sensitive cells in our ears sense the vibrations and send signals to our brain. We see and hear when our brain makes sense out of the messages it gets from our eyes and our ears.

I liked the book because it gave me more knowledge about eyes and ears. I did not know that the retina contains two different kinds of light sensitive nerve cells, which are the rods and cones .The rods are used to see black and white while the cones are used to see colors.The other thing I learned is we use the cones more during the day and the rods more during the night. I also liked the pictures because they helped me to understand what they were talking about.
There are so many functions of the eye and the ear which i didn’t know about. the book is really educating. The book allowed me to realize the important role that both the ears and the eyes play in connection with the brain. It also made me observe that the ear and the eye can never function without linking with the brain. The ear nerve that is connected to the brain is called the Auditory nerve and the one with the eye is called the Optic nerve. Without these nerves there will be no connection with the brain. What actually motivated me in reading this book was the beautiful pictures that gives more details about it. whenever I remember the pictures that I saw in the book then i reminiscence what I read about. I recommend you reading this message to go for this book because it will impart something into your memory.
The things I liked about the book is that it tells you about how eyes work and what they do. As in how they operate to certain things like colors. If people didn’t know how near sighted and far sighted people saw things differently to regular sighted people, and how our eyes react to light. If your near sighted and you didn’t know that you was as in if your driving something bad can happen.
What i found interesting about the book, is how your eyelids cover parts of your eyes and make them appear oval rather than round. Also that the reason for nearsightedness is the eyeball in some people is a bit to long front to back. I wear glasses and I am nearsighted, I can only see things up close without the glasses. The reason I see things blurry and nearsighted is of a condition called myopia.
Your Eyes And Ears are very important senses in our bodies. The ear is an amazing and important sense organ. We can hear all kinds of sounds, from the loud sound of a door slamming to the soft sound of tree leaves rustling in the wind. An ear has three parts: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. Your eye is also called an eyeball. It is shaped like a small ball about one inch across. Two eyeballs sit in cuplike sockets in the front of your head. Your eyelids cover parts of your eyes and make them appear more oval than round. Six tiny muscles hold each eyeball steady in the sockets of your head. I found this book very interesing, I learned how your eyes and ears work and the different senses they have.

I enjoyed the book Eyes and Ears because without being able to use our eyes and ears it will become very difficult to communicate and see our loved ones. Did you know there is a spot on the retina in our eye that is sensitive to light. It is called the blind spot.Each of our eyes has a blind spot. Usually we are not aware of the blind spots in our eyes because they are always moving around. This book was very good!!
